6k broken

I broke 6000 tonight while playing Guitar Hero 5.

I've been distracted by Final Fantasy XIII but think I'll work in other games where I can rack up the achievements to boost my score. There are a few games I have in mind, but think I'll take a look at my collection and see what I have that will boost the score a little more quickly.

Commitment

I have had a difficult time chronicling my progress. If you've been watching my gamer score then you know I've not slowed down. I'm currently concentrating on completing Final Fantasy XIII, but may distract myself by getting more Halo achievements out of the way.

I am still committed, but will focus on making this space more relevant to my goal.

2010 update

It's indeed been a couple of months since the last post. I will try to be better about updating. Luckily my Twitter feed is current and has consistently been updating my climb in Gamer score. I'm now well above 5k which isn't bad. I've averaged more than 1k a month. I'm hoping to step up my earning rate, but with changes in work and other aspects of life, I'm hoping to just keep climbing in points.

2.6k

I made small progress over the last week, mostly due to Soul Calibur IV. When I began this endeavor, I wanted to maintain a high completion of achievements within games I am playing. Though tedious, I did my best to keep it up. Of the eight games I am playing, I have maintained over a 40% completion. This percentage is number of achievements possible, not actual gamer score.

As a result, my progress is slow.

I'm going to focus on building my overall gamer score - I'll be focusing on the score and not the completion in weeks to come. That said, don't be surprised if the number of games played triples over time - my gamer score itself should be jumping significantly as a result.

Catch you on the other side of 3k.

Abandoned? No!

I'll be honest - I've been off the Box for a good week now. I've been working, preparing for the holidays, as well as a career change. Times are busy, but I have not abandoned my goal. I'll finish my second play through of Dragon Age then either work on Modern Warfare 2 or Left 4 Dead 2.

Over 2k

I've been over 2,000 Gamerscore for several days now, but didn't make the time to post about it. Most of that recent increase has been due to Dragon Age, which I'm playing through a second time to pick up the rest of the achievements.

Roleplaying Games are nice for scores, but require a huge amount of time. The achievements are not difficult, but take a lot longer than other games may. It's a double edged sword for me.

1,700

Broke the 1,700G mark tonight. My progress has been slow; I haven't been able to focus on the Xbox this week. I had set a personal goal of hitting 2000 by Saturday but missed it. This week I plan to catch up and at least meet that goal.

Remember how I was going to focus on Tekken and Borderlands? That probably won't be the case for now. I've made slight progress in Borderlands, but recently picked up both Dragon Age and Modern Warfare 2. These are amazing games - I can't wait to get through them.

Do you enjoy following this adventure? Let me know what you like and what I can do to improve the experience for those following along.
